Fed Chair Warsh Launches 5 Task Forces for Policy Regime Overhaul on July 14

Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh announced on Tuesday, July 14, that the Fed will undertake a policy regime change to combat persistent high inflation, which he described as an unfair tax on American households and businesses. Warsh, who took office in May, has established 5 task forces to comprehensively review the Fed's policy communication, technology systems, balance sheet, economic data usage, and inflation assessment methodology. He emphasized that the Fed requires fundamental institutional reform to reverse past policy errors and move forward correctly on monetary policy.
