Federal Reserve Announces 5 Task Force Leaders Led by External Experts on July 9

According to Yonhapinfomax, the Federal Reserve announced on July 9 the appointment of external expert panels to lead 5 task forces established by Fed Chair Kevin Wash. The task forces will examine monetary policy tools, analytical methods, and policy approaches across five key areas: communications, balance sheet policy, data infrastructure, productivity and employment, and inflation framework.

The balance sheet policy task force includes Raghuram Rajan, former governor of India's central bank, and Jeremy Stein, former Fed board member, both professors at leading U.S. universities with emphasis on financial stability. Wash stated in a press release that each task force will operate independently with support from Fed staff, ensuring the central bank is positioned to achieve its objectives during this critical period.
