Former KB Financial Group Chairman Yoon Jong-gyu to Step Down by Year-End 2026

According to South Korea's financial sector, former KB Financial Group Chairman Yoon Jong-gyu decided on July 14 to step down from his advisory role at KB Financial Group by the end of 2026. Although internal regulations allow him to remain in the position until late 2027, Yoon chose to end his tenure earlier. Yoon led KB Financial as chairman from 2014 to 2023, then transitioned to an advisory role starting late 2024. He stated that the organization should develop independently from any individual and emphasized that corporate governance should be built on institutional and talent-centered systems rather than reliance on specific leaders.
