France Bans Social Media for Children Under 15, Implementation Begins September 1

On July 21, France's parliament passed legislation prohibiting children under 15 from using social media. The ban will take effect in two phases: starting September 1, minors under 15 will be prohibited from registering new social media accounts; from January 2027, existing accounts belonging to children under 15 will be suspended or closed.
