Galaxy Launches Bitcoin Quantum Readiness Initiative, Commits Up to $5M in Developer Grants

According to The Block, Galaxy has launched the Bitcoin Quantum Readiness Initiative, committing up to $5 million in funding to support quantum resistance research and development. The initiative includes an advisory council of quantum computing and cryptography experts and a research program aimed at keeping Bitcoin secure against potential quantum computing threats. Galaxy will begin accepting grant applications immediately for developers and researchers working on quantum-resistant transaction proposals, post-quantum signature schemes, wallet migration tools, and security audits. The advisory council includes Barry Sanders from the University of Calgary, Damien Bérubé (MIT Sea Grant Knauss Fellow), and Eran Tromer from Boston University.
