Gate News, according to an official Gate announcement, Gate has now launched a spot POV algorithm order feature. POV is an order type in which large orders are split. Based on real trading volume in the market, it gradually executes the order according to the user’s set target participation rate, helping users avoid noticeable price impact when placing a large order all at once.
POV algorithm orders are suitable for users whose order amount is relatively large, who do not need the entire order filled immediately, and who care more about trade quality—especially for trading pairs with good liquidity, such as BTC and ETH. When placing an order, users can set the total quantity, the target participation rate, and an expiration time. The target participation rate can be set to 5%, 10%, 20%, 40%, or similar values. The system will adjust the order quantity as appropriate based on how actively the market is trading: it increases the order quantity when market activity is high, and reduces the order quantity or pauses execution when market activity is low or the price does not meet the specified conditions.
During execution, the system continuously monitors market fills across short time slices and uses the order book depth, the remaining unfilled quantity, and the user’s limit price settings to split and generate multiple IOC limit-price child orders for matching. POV algorithm orders also include an automatic correction mechanism: when the actual participation rate is lower than the target participation rate, the system may increase execution in later time slices as appropriate; when the actual participation rate is higher than the target participation rate, the system may reduce the order quantity or pause execution for a period of time.
