German Government Guarantees Up to €11.5 Billion for Meyer Werft Cruise Ship Orders

According to Bloomberg, on Wednesday the German government decided to provide a state guarantee of up to 11.5 billion euros (approximately $13.1 billion) for Meyer Werft's cruise ship construction contract with Swiss operator MSC Cruises. The German federal budget committee made the decision at a closed-door meeting, with the guarantee covering principal and interest.
