According to Golden Ten Data, on May 8, Germany’s Vice Chancellor and Finance Minister Christian Lindner called for the EU to strengthen cooperation with Canada, the UK, and other nations to protect against U.S. policy uncertainty. Speaking en route to Canada, Lindner stated that Europe has a responsibility to organize new alliance systems as Trump reshapes the global order. “For me, it is important to enhance our resilience and make ourselves less vulnerable to coercion,” Lindner said. Canadian Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland has emphasized that the rules-based international order has ended and urged nations not to submit to a more transactional, closed, and harsh world.
