According to its statement on X, Grafana disclosed that an unauthorized attacker recently gained access to tokens for its GitHub environment and downloaded code repositories. The company confirmed no customer data or personal information was leaked and no customer systems or business operations were affected. The attacker attempted to extort the company by demanding ransom to prevent the code from being made public, but Grafana refused to pay. The company has initiated forensic analysis, identified the credential leak source, and deployed additional security measures.
