Greece's Regulator Moves to Reject Binance's MiCA License Application Ahead of End-June Deadline

According to Reuters, Greece's financial regulator has reportedly moved toward rejecting Binance's application for a license under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework, which faces a transition deadline at the end of June. Two sources told Reuters the Hellenic Capital Market Commission is expected to deny the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange's application, potentially preventing Binance from obtaining the regulatory approval needed to operate across all 27 EU member states under the new regime.

Binance said it had not received a formal rejection and remained engaged with regulators during the licensing process. Binance selected Greece as its European regulatory base earlier this year after establishing a local entity.
