GateNews

According to Xinhua, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates recently submitted a joint letter to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) opposing Iran's establishment of a Strait of Hormuz Management Authority and related maritime notices.

The five states rejected the use of Iran-designated shipping lanes and refused to engage with the Iranian authority. They also opposed integrating the Iranian maritime procedures and management authority into IMO frameworks for emergency merchant vessel evacuation operations.
