According to ZhiTong Finance, the Hang Seng Index rose 2.38% (up 560 points to 24,057) in morning trading on July 8, with the Hang Seng Tech Index gaining 4.34%. Domestic semiconductor stocks surged collectively ahead of the 2026 World AI Conference, with key players including China's Huahong Hongli rising over 8%, SMIC climbing 7.5%, and Qiji Microelectronics jumping over 14%. Other notable gainers included Biren Technology (up over 7%), which secured 7 billion yuan in funding for next-generation GPGPU commercialization, and Zhipu (up 17%).
