Hanwha Q CELLS Responds to U.S. Anti-Circumvention Petition on July 29, Says Impact Minimal

Hanwha-3.45%
According to Hanwha Q CELLS in an earnings call on July 29, the company said its production and supply chain structure fundamentally differs from alleged circumvention mechanisms related to Korean solar cells targeted by a U.S. anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigation petition. The company stated it has strong factual grounds and expects no material impact from the inquiry. The U.S. Commerce Department has received the petition but has not yet formally initiated the investigation. Hanwha cited a 2023 precedent in which the Commerce Department determined its Malaysian subsidiary operations did not constitute circumvention.
