Hexens Discloses Fixed Aptos Vulnerability Affecting $70B in Assets Including Stablecoins and Bridges

APT-1.76%
According to Foresight News citing CoinDesk, security firm Hexens' white hat hackers discovered a critical vulnerability in Aptos' Move virtual machine that has been patched. Reported to Aptos developers in late February, the flaw was a "stale cache vulnerability" causing type confusion, potentially affecting up to $70 billion in digital assets including stablecoins and cross-chain bridges. Researchers achieved over 90% success rate simulating the attack with a $3,000 server setup mimicking one-third of validator nodes, requiring no special access. Aptos remediated the issue immediately with no funds lost.
