Hong Kong Stocks Open Higher Today, Hang Seng Index Up 54 Points; Semiconductor Stocks Lead Gains

Hong Kong stocks opened higher today, with the Hang Seng Index (HSI) gaining 54 points, or 0.2%, to 23,404 points. The National Index rose 15 points or 0.2% to 7,715 points, while the Tech Index climbed 24 points or 0.6% to 4,523 points.

Semiconductor stocks led the rally. SMIC (00981) surged 2.9% to 79.85 HKD, marking the best-performing blue chip at market open, while China Wafer Level CSP (01347) rose 2.2% to 181.9 HKD. Among tech giants, Xiaomi (01810) gained 1.5% to 23.3 HKD, while Alibaba (09988), Tencent (00700), and Kuaishou (01024) posted modest gains. BYD (01211) continued its winning streak with a 1.3% rise to 85.2 HKD.
