IMF Cuts Global Growth to 3% for 2026, Raises China Forecast to 4.6%

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on July 8, the organization released updated World Economic Outlook forecasts, cutting global economic growth for 2026 to 3% (down 0.1 percentage points) while raising China's forecast to 4.6% (up 0.2 percentage points).

The report also lowered advanced economies' growth projections to 1.7% (down 0.1 percentage points) and emerging markets and developing economies to 3.8% (down 0.1 percentage points).
