Independent Miner Strikes $200K Bitcoin Block Using $150 Bitaxe Device in 8 Hours

According to CoinDesk, an independent bitcoin miner using a $150 Bitaxe device struck block 957,382 in just 8 hours, securing 3.1382 BTC valued at approximately $200,000. The open-source ASIC miner, the size of a credit card, operates at just 15-21 watts and features Bitmain's BM1370 chip. This marks the second block mined independently through Public Pool on the Bitaxe platform. Over the past 12 months, independent miners have successfully extracted 24 blocks, up 41% year-over-year, accumulating 75.44 BTC in total.
