Gate News message, April 15 — India’s conversational AI company Gupshup launched SuperAgent in beta, an AI agent designed to manage customer conversations across channels including WhatsApp and SMS. The company also introduced SuperClaw, a self-hosted version targeting small and medium-sized businesses and enterprises in regulated industries that require local data storage.
Gupshup’s messaging platform currently handles 10 billion messages per month for 50,000 businesses across more than 100 countries. SuperAgent can create campaigns and customer journeys from prompts and supports web, WhatsApp, and voice interfaces.
Investor Fidelity has marked down Gupshup’s implied valuation to approximately $280–$300 million, nearly 80% below its 2021 peak valuation of $1.4 billion. The company’s estimated annual revenue reached $360.5 million in 2024, up from $150 million in 2021. Gupshup faces competition from Twilio, Infobip, Google, and Microsoft in the AI agent market, which is forecast to reach $236–$253 billion by 2034.
