Indonesia Launches Nationwide B50 Biodiesel Distribution on July 29, First Country with Mandatory Blending Standard

According to reports, Indonesia's state-owned energy company Pertamina Patra Niaga began nationwide B50 biodiesel distribution on Tuesday (July 29), in line with government mandate. The rollout, which officially took effect on July 1, makes Indonesia the first country globally to implement mandatory B50 blending standards nationwide. Pertamina will initially distribute through 29 of 126 fuel terminals over a three-month transition period, allowing suppliers to clear existing B40 inventory before full nationwide B50 coverage by October 1. Indonesia's Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry confirmed that major industrial sectors, including heavy equipment, mining machinery, locomotives, and vessels, have completed compatibility testing for the higher biodiesel blend.
