Intel Shifts Nova Lake Production: 80-90% In-House Manufacturing vs. Earlier 60-70% TSMC Plan

According to TechPowerUp, Intel is shifting its Nova Lake chip production strategy, moving 80 to 90 percent of its compute module manufacturing in-house using its 18A process, a significant change from the earlier plan to allocate 60 to 70 percent to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company using 2-nanometer process technology. The shift comes as Intel's 18A process has achieved reliable yields, addressing earlier concerns and eliminating delays. Nova Lake, part of the Core Ultra 400 series featuring tile-based design, is scheduled for release by end of 2026.
