Intesa Sanpaolo Increases Crypto Holdings to $235M in Q1 2026, Adds Ethereum and XRP Exposure

According to ChainCatcher, Italy’s largest bank Intesa Sanpaolo increased its cryptocurrency holdings from approximately $100 million at the end of 2025 to around $235 million in Q1 2026. The bank expanded its Bitcoin ETF positions through ARK 21Shares and BlackRock’s IBIT, and made its first Ethereum allocation via BlackRock’s iShares Staked Ethereum Trust. Intesa also added approximately $26 million in Grayscale XRP Trust ETF holdings and established its first Bitcoin call options positions.
