Iran Closes Western Airspace Through May 25, Keeps 8 Airports Open

According to CCTV International, Iran's Civil Aviation Organization issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) on May 22 closing western sections of Tehran Flight Information Region through May 25, 2026, except for 8 designated airports including Tabriz and Mehrabad International. These 8 airports will operate only during daylight hours for commercial flights. All airlines flying over or into Iranian airspace require approval from Iran's Civil Aviation Organization.
