According to Jin Shi Data, Iran on May 11 proposed a ten-point stance regarding the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that the U.S. military presence is the primary source of regional instability. Iran stated that foreign powers are unwelcome in the Persian Gulf and that its growing influence represents part of a new regional order. Iran also stressed that controlling the Strait of Hormuz is key to ensuring security and called for ending hostile use of the waterway.
