Iran's President Pezeshkian Submits Resignation Request on Sunday, Citing Exclusion From Key Decisions

GateNews
According to Iran's state broadcaster IRIB, Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian submitted a formal resignation request to the Supreme Leader's office on Sunday (June 1), citing a knowledge source. In his letter, Pezeshkian stated that the presidency and government have been effectively excluded from major state decision-making processes, creating a power vacuum that has allowed hardline factions within Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) to control the situation. He added that under these circumstances, he cannot effectively manage the government or fulfill his legal responsibilities, prompting his request for immediate resignation.
