Iran's Revolutionary Guard Fires Warning Shots at U.S. Destroyer in Strait of Hormuz on May 12

According to Iran's FARS News Agency, on May 12, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy fired warning shots at a U.S. Navy destroyer attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz, according to senior naval official Mohammad Akbarzadeh. The vessel subsequently changed course. Iran said it remains closely monitoring regional developments and will not tolerate any violations of its territorial waters.
