Israel Insists on Disarming Hamas, Rejects Handover of Gaza Administrative Authority

According to Jin10, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Bar on July 6 insisted that Israel is committed to "fully implementing" the disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups and complete demilitarization of the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Hamas announced it would hand over administrative control of Gaza. Bar said Hamas's willingness to "make space" for a technocratic government aims to prevent its own disarmament; as long as Hamas retains weapons, it can continue attacks on Israel.
