Israeli Forces to Withdraw From Southern Lebanon Pilot Zones Within Days, U.S. Officials Say

According to U.S. officials cited by Axios on July 9, Israeli forces will withdraw from pilot zones in southern Lebanon within days. Israel and Lebanon, under U.S. coordination, have agreed to designate specific areas in southern Lebanon as pilot zones where Israeli forces will pull back in phases, allowing Lebanese sovereignty to be restored gradually. U.S. Central Command is coordinating with both countries to establish additional pilot zones. The next round of talks between Israel and Lebanon is scheduled for next week in Rome.
