Japan PM Takaichi Dismisses Economic Policy Concerns, Plans Two-Year Food Tax Exemption

Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae on July 15 dismissed concerns that the government's economic policy draft is unsettling markets. She stated that discussions on food sales tax exemption will continue through July, and if negotiations conclude by early August, there will still be time to proceed. The government plans to limit the food sales tax exemption period to two years.
