Japan SESC Recommends Administrative Penalties for moomoo Securities Over NISA Misrepresentation

FUTU-3.47%
According to the Japan Economic News, Japan's Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC) is recommending administrative penalties for moomoo Securities, a Japanese subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed Futu Holdings, on June 4. The regulator found that the company falsely or misleadingly marketed financial products ineligible under Japan's NISA (Nippon Individual Savings Account) scheme as NISA-qualified products, exposing deficiencies in its compliance and internal management systems. If formally recommended, Japan's Financial Services Agency may impose business improvement orders or other regulatory measures.
