Japan's Core CPI Rises 1.6% Year-over-Year in June, Matching Market Expectations

According to Japan Statistics Bureau, Japan's core CPI (excluding fresh food) rose 1.6% year-over-year in June on July 24, matching market expectations. The increase widened from 1.4% in the prior month. The headline CPI index (including fresh food and energy) rose 1.7% year-over-year, up from 1.5% in May.
