Japan's Nikkei 225 Falls 2.11% on July 8, South Korea's KOSPI Plunges 5.35%

According to Gate data, on July 8, Japan's Nikkei 225 index closed down 1,437.91 points, or 2.11%, at 66,819.05 points. South Korea's KOSPI index fell 409.53 points, or 5.35%, to 7,246.78 points, triggering a temporary trading halt during the session. The KOSPI has declined approximately 20% from its June high and is approaching technical bear market territory.
