According to Bloomberg, Christopher Giancarlo, the former U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) chairman, will join Jefferies Financial Group in July as a senior advisor focused on investment banking. Giancarlo, known as the "Crypto Dad" for leading the approval of Bitcoin futures contracts on CBOE and CME while at the CFTC, championed a relatively permissive regulatory stance on digital assets. Jefferies has positioned itself as a full-stack investment bank for crypto and blockchain, completing approximately 14 digital asset deals worth roughly $9 billion to date.
