According to Beating News, Kimi Code team and the open-source community reached a settlement on May 26, resolving disputes stemming from account restrictions and risk control measures. Open-source developer Leechael confirmed that the pi-provider-kimi-code plugin will continue maintenance, and paid subscribers can safely use Kimi Code Plan through third-party tools such as Pi Coding Agent.
Kimi Code team member Young clarified that recent risk control upgrades aimed at blocking resellers used User-Agent identification as a criterion. The system mistakenly flagged normal requests as malicious when third-party Code Agents (like Pi) constructed User-Agent strings matching Kimi CLI, affecting compliant users. Kimi has adjusted its risk control strategy, restored all restricted accounts, and begun working with third-party developers to optimize User-Agent detection.
