According to Korea Investment & Securities, on July 24, the brokerage maintained its "overweight" recommendation on the defense sector, citing a structural global air defense missile supply shortage. The report noted that as Lockheed Martin has formalized development of the next-generation PAC-3 ACE interceptor, with mass production expected after 2029, near-term supply gaps will persist. Korea Investment also upgraded LIG Defense & Aerospace as its preferred stock in the sector, citing expected revenue growth from air defense missile-related value chains as Middle East export reference projects open opportunities for Korean contractors.
