Korean Won Hits 1,460 Per Dollar, First Downtrend Since May 11

According to Seoul Foreign Exchange Brokerage, the Korean won weakened against the U.S. dollar on July 23, touching 1,460 won per dollar for the first time in about two and a half months. As of 2:18 p.m. local time, the KRW/USD rate stood at 1,468.25 won, down 9.05 won from the previous trading day, marking a shift to a downtrend after the currency's extended appreciation period since May 11.
