Lattice Semiconductor Acquires AMI for $1.65 Billion on May 4, Expanding into AI Infrastructure Software

According to Reuters, Lattice Semiconductor announced on May 4 it will acquire AMI, a firmware and infrastructure software company, for $1.65 billion to expand deeper into AI system management and cloud infrastructure.

AMI specializes in BIOS firmware and Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) software, which manage server operations and remote system control in data centers. The acquisition extends Lattice's programmable chip portfolio into system security, manageability, and control, according to CEO Ford Tamer.
