According to Russia’s Foreign Ministry, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pledged on May 15 to provide Cuba with political, diplomatic and material support during talks with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez in New Delhi. The announcement was made during a meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS foreign ministers summit. Russia stated it is prepared to assist Cuba in its demands, which include the immediate lift of the U.S. trade, economic and financial embargo against Cuba and removal of the country from the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism.
