London Stock Exchange Plans Overnight Trading Venue Launching in First Half of 2027

According to the Financial Times, the London Stock Exchange plans to launch an independent overnight trading venue in the first half of 2027, operating from 5 p.m. to 7:50 a.m. with a 30-minute pause for end-of-day processing. The new platform will initially provide access to exchange-traded products tracking UK and U.S. stock markets, with plans to eventually extend trading hours to more than 2,600 listed products. LSE Chief Executive Julia Hoggett told the FT the initiative aims to meet retail and international investor demand, while the exchange designs the venue with AI-powered trading capabilities.
