Long Semiconductor IPO Triggers South Korean Stock Market Decline on July 28

SK Hynix-14.64%
MU-8.91%

According to multiple South Korean media, Long Semiconductor's stock market listing on July 28 sparked a sharp decline in the Korean stock market, with investors concerned that the company will leverage capital raised from the IPO to compete with Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology. The market downturn reflects worries that Long Semiconductor, China's largest semiconductor enterprise, could eventually challenge the global dominance of these three firms in memory chip manufacturing.

Z-Ben Advisors analyst Peter Alexander stated that Long Semiconductor is expected to rapidly capture market share in low-end memory chips and ultimately disrupt the oligopoly held by Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron in the global storage industry.
