Mastercard Launches AI Payment Service AP4M With 30 Initial Partners Including Coinbase and Ripple

Mastercard launched Agent Pay for Machines (AP4M), an artificial intelligence payment initiative, on June 10. The initiative enables AI agents to execute payments securely on Mastercard's global payment network. Thirty initial partners including Coinbase, OKX, Polygon, Ripple, Solana Foundation, Stripe, and Tempo are participating. AP4M supports multiple payment methods including credit cards, bank accounts, and stablecoins such as USDC, PYUSD, USDP, RLUSD, and SoFiUSD. The service includes AI agent authentication, user spending limit management, and payment settlement guarantees.
