According to CoinDesk, MetaMask launched a self-custodial Money Account on the Monad blockchain on June 30, combining stablecoin yield, payments, and trading. The account uses mUSD, a stablecoin issued by Bridge (a payments infrastructure company owned by Stripe) and backed 1:1 by US cash and short-duration Treasuries. Users can earn up to 4% variable annual yield through automatic allocation to decentralized lending protocols including Morpho, and spend balances via MetaMask Card at Mastercard-accepting merchants for swaps, perpetual futures, and prediction markets.
