MicroStrategy Sold 3,588 BTC for $216 Million Over Past Week, 7x More Than Market Rumored

According to MicroStrategy's official statement, the company sold 3,588 Bitcoin for approximately $216 million over the past week ending July 5-6, 2026, to fund dividends on its Digital Credit securities. The sale, confirmed by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, was significantly larger than the 491 BTC transfer speculated by on-chain analysts earlier. Following the transaction, MicroStrategy now holds 843,775 BTC, remaining the largest corporate Bitcoin treasury globally. The company stated this marks its largest Bitcoin sale since a 2022 tax-loss transaction.
