MoneyGram Becomes Tempo's First Remittance Validator, Expands Stablecoin Settlement Role

According to its announcement on May 20, MoneyGram became Tempo's anchor remittance validator, expanding the payments company's direct participation in blockchain infrastructure operations. Under the partnership, MoneyGram will support cross-border transaction validation and stablecoin settlement on Tempo, a Layer 1 blockchain incubated by Stripe and Paradigm.

MoneyGram, Tempo, and Stripe plan to integrate stablecoin settlement directly into operational payment systems, with Stripe expected to settle transactions to MoneyGram via Tempo's blockchain infrastructure. MoneyGram joins institutional validators including Stripe, Visa, and Zodia Custody in the Tempo ecosystem.
