MSCI Latin America Index Up 0.39% on Monday as Risk Sentiment Stabilizes

On Monday, Latin American assets rose broadly amid improving risk appetite on Wall Street and signs of geopolitical risks remaining manageable. MSCI Latin America Index gained 0.39%, while the regional currency index climbed 0.60%. Mexico's stock market advanced 0.9% and the peso appreciated 0.4% against the U.S. dollar. Colombia's peso fell 0.34% and its stock index dropped 0.9%, pressured by a 4.7% plunge in oil company Ecopetrol. Peru's equities gained nearly 1%, though the sol edged down 0.2%. Brazil's stock market declined 1% as investors continued monitoring the country's domestic political developments.
