Musk: AI Could Surpass Collective Human Intelligence in Five Years, China May Become Global Leader

According to Musk in an interview with The Economist published July 27, artificial intelligence could surpass the combined intelligence of all humans in about five years, and China AI companies are "very likely" to become global leaders.

Musk noted that China currently holds significant advantages in power generation and electricity supply. He pointed out that the bottleneck for AI development is shifting from semiconductors to energy and cooling capacity. China's electricity generation has already exceeded the combined output of the United States, Europe, and India, and could potentially reach several times that of the U.S. in the future.
