Nikkei 225 Falls 4.03% to 64,141.12 on July 17 as Semiconductor Stocks Collapse

According to Yonhapinfomax, on July 17, Japan's Nikkei 225 index declined 2,694.42 points (4.03%) to close at 64,141.12, while the TOPIX index fell 109.58 points (2.72%) to 3,919.21. Semiconductor stocks led the selloff, with Kioxia dropping over 16%, Advantest falling more than 7%, Tokyo Electron declining 8%, and SoftBank Group sliding over 9%. The weakness followed a semiconductor sell-off in overnight U.S. trading and profit-taking ahead of Japan's three-day holiday starting July 20.
