Ningbo Customs Seizes 400+ Mining Machines in Smuggling Operation on May 17

According to Zhejiang Daily, Ningbo Customs anti-smuggling bureau broke up multiple cryptocurrency mining machine smuggling cases on May 17, seizing over 400 units including Antminer L9 and Icehive KS3 models. Smuggling rings disassembled the equipment and misclassified them as “industrial circuit breakers” before importing them via international express channels through ports in Ningbo and Guangzhou. The machines were later reassembled and sold domestically or transferred to mining farms in Xinjiang and Hunan provinces. Authorities noted that criminal groups also used USDT for cross-border payments to evade fund monitoring.
