OpenAI Confidentially Files for US IPO on June 8, Valued at $852 Billion

According to Bloomberg, OpenAI confidentially filed for a US initial public offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 8. The company is working with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley on a possible listing as soon as autumn, though OpenAI noted timing has not been decided and could take longer due to advantages of remaining private. The filing follows a March 2026 funding round that valued OpenAI at $852 billion. OpenAI also plans a share tender sale in the coming weeks to provide employees with liquidity ahead of any IPO.
