Pound May Weaken If UK Economic Data Disappoints This Week, Says Societe Generale

GateNews

According to Societe Generale analyst Kit Juckes, the pound could come under pressure this week if upcoming UK economic data disappoints. Employment data is scheduled for Tuesday, followed by inflation figures on Wednesday and retail sales data on Friday (May 18-22). Juckes noted that should the data prove worse than expected, it would further pressure sterling amid existing political uncertainty.
