Republican Lawmakers Demand Fairshake Super PAC Clarify Support for 2026 Mid-Term Candidates

According to Axios, Republican lawmakers are increasingly dissatisfied with pro-crypto super PAC Fairshake and demanding it clarify whether it will support Republican candidates in the 2026 mid-term elections. Fairshake, which currently holds $165 million in funds, has not announced its election spending plans, disappointing Republicans who have advanced pro-crypto legislation including the CLARITY Act.

A key point of contention is Democratic Ohio Senator candidate Sherrod Brown. Fairshake spent over $40 million in 2024 to defeat then-Senator Brown, but his stance on crypto has visibly softened since, raising Republican concerns that Fairshake may avoid his current race. Similarly controversial is New Hampshire Representative Chris Pappas, whose Stand With Crypto rating improved from "F" to "A" within eight months, prompting Republicans to expect Fairshake's focus on defeating him. Fairshake supporters responded that it is too early to announce positions, emphasizing the PAC supports both parties by rewarding allies and opposing critics, not providing unconditional backing to Republicans.
